Recycling Operative - Bin lorry helper/Civic Amenity Operative [Ireland]


 
  • Assessing whether bin to be collected by checking credit control system
  • Empties household and commercial bins into the refuse truck and return bin to position found.
  • To deal with members of the public in a pleasant and courteous manner, reporting details of all complaints to the Transport Manager.

  • Be aware of the onsite traffic, make yourself visible for oncoming traffic
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Procedures in place including appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) being used on a daily basis, behaviour and actions are in line with safe working practises and escalate any concerns in an appropriate timeframe to the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Report all spillages to Transport manager and follow their instructions for spillage treatment
  • Report any breakdowns of equipment to Transport Manager in an appropriate timeframe
  • Report all near misses, incidents and accidents to the Health and Safety Manager immediately

· To liaise with the Transport manager concerning workload, ensuring that all tasks are completed satisfactorily and within agreed time limits.

  • Other ad hoc duties as required that are deemed appropriate and reasonable to the skill level of the person in the role.
