We're looking for a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker who is fluent in English, very friendly, and loves interacting with different people. You should be ready to strive hard to delight our members at every touchpoint. Your role is integral to the smooth running and growth of Tandem - our goal is to turn all Tandem members into Tandem advocates!

Your role will be to:

  • Respond to members’ questions, queries, and requests on Zendesk.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider community team to solve any issues or bugs reported by the community as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • Review applications to join the community ensuring we uphold our strict community guidelines.

  • Review reports made by the community and take the appropriate action to warn or ban a member if necessary.

  • Always be on the lookout for ways to adapt our processes and keep up to date with new features and trends in moderation and customer support.

You are the right fit for the role if you:

  • Are a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker with excellent command of the language and a very proficient English speaker (other languages are a plus).

  • Have a great understanding of Brazilian Portuguese social media platforms.

  • Have great verbal communication skills to work with the wider community team.

  • Are an eloquent writer in Brazilian Portuguese, with the ability to handle various types of queries from the community.

  • Are internationally-minded and enjoy interacting with people from different countries and learning about new cultures.

  • You are very proactive, can think on your feet, and enjoy problem-solving.

  • Have your own laptop or desktop computer with stable and constant wifi.

  • Have a great interest in mobile apps and are open to learning how to use different software tools.

  • Previous work experience in customer support, community moderation or management is a plus.

  • You'd feel comfortable dealing with sensitive or unpredictable topics our community writes to us about.


Other details:


  • This role is remote.

  • You will hold a freelance contract and work a minimum of 150 hours per month remotely.

  • You may be expected to work on weekends.

  • You must be able to send us an invoice each month.

  • You will report to the Community Manager and work closely with other long-standing community moderators.
